Gilmer 'Gill $tackz' Marias was born on June 14, 1989 in the District of Columbia and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland for majority of his childhood and young adulthood. Growing up Gill aspired to be the best that he could be by always staying positive, paving the way for his sisters, and having faith in God. Being the oldest of three, he took on the role of being the head of his household at a young age which he credits for much of his success. Gill has always had a fond love for music. As Gill grew older he became a huge fan of Go-Go, and loved the energy that the bands performed with. Early on his inspirations were 'Biggie Smalls' and 'Nas' to name a few. Not only was he fascinated by the witty lyricism and raw delievery that these artists displayed but, he could relate to their stories. At 13 Gill began writing music. At 17 he recorded his first song. After Highschool Gill was fortunate enough to attend Bowie State University. During his college years he would go to different venues in the DMV to perform and, it was then that he discovered his passion for entertaining. Gill began to fix his sights on making the dreams of being a recording artist, a reality. Upon graduating Gill decided it was time to hone in on his craft, and dedicated himself to being a full time recording artist. The road has not been easy for him but, he would not have it any other way. He knows that nothing comes easy in life, and we are all victims of struggle regardless of our economic or social status. Nonethesless, he lives by the motto "the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward" and is committed to providing timeless music that will inspire generations to follow.
